The dynamics of the Russian population for the period 2014-2018 is studied. The trend of depopulation is revealed. The migration process is described as one of the mechanisms for overcoming the trend. The determinant of the attractiveness of regions for labor migration is determined. Regions of the Russian Federation are classified according to their attractiveness by cluster analysis.
