In the article, on the basis of pedagogical observation results during the high class volleyball player’s competitive activity are received indicators of rival’s serve reception by volleyball players of defending team. It is defined, that the quality of serve reception significantly lags behind model characteristic of highclass players. It is established that low indicators of rival’s serve reception efficiency considerably reduce effectiveness of defending team’s counteroffensive actions.
