In present article the main components of game process defining a rival’s serve reception in competitive activity conditions are considered. Insolvency of effective serve reception is shown if volleyball player begins defense action at the time of performance the attacking player of the shock movement on a ball. Preparation for serve reception has to be carried out in the preparatory period of volleyball player tactical and technical actions of who is caring out a serve.
