The presented article is devoted to the analysis of such an indicator of economic security of the Russian Federation as the crime rate in the economic sphere. The article analyzes the methodology for calculating this indicator, the dynamics of recorded crimes of an economic nature from 2009 to 2018, the dynamics of the Russian population of working age from 2009 to 2017, as well as the crime rate in the Russian economy from 2009 to 2017. As a result of the analysis, conclusions are drawn characterizing the current state of crime in the Russian economy and evaluating its impact on ensuring the necessary level of economic security of the state. This article may be useful to researchers and teachers, as well as students studying the problem of ensuring the economic security of the state
